The story of the Luna & Charlie name is one rooted in our lifelong love for all-things literary. Luna Lovegood of JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series always thinks outside the box. She uses her imagination in extraordinary ways, and she shows us that seeing the world differently requires fierce courage.
Charlie Bucket, the meek protagonist of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has another kind of courage: he has the guts to follow someone else’s imagination into a magical world where ordinary rules no longer apply.
We combine the best of these character traits for an event planning experience defined by both uninhibited imagination and unwavering willingness. When you’re at a loss for ideas and in need of a fresh perspective, we’ll be your Luna. When you have endless ideas for your wedding weekend running wild in your mind, we’ll follow your lead like Charlie. We’re fiercely creative event planners and eager-to-listen partners—here to help you unearth your story and share it through an inspired event experience.
MEET EMILY
FOUNDER & EVENT PLANNER

My origin story begins with seeing Father of the Bride when I was nine years old and immediately asking my mom, “How do I become Franck?” There was no question in my mind I wanted to be a wedding planner—and I followed that vision fiercely. I went on to earn my degree in event management from a hospitality school and eventually worked at one of the top catering companies in the country for a decade (ask me about the time I had a chef cook an entire gala dinner at my house when a venue’s oven went out).
But the longer I worked with other event planners, the more I knew I had something special to bring to the market—namely, an uncanny ability to remain calm under pressure (you can thank my 15-year-long meditation practice). In 2017, I made my fairytale dreams a reality when I opened Luna & Charlie with the simple goal of helping people celebrate their stories in an intentional, experiential way.
Today, there’s nothing I love more than watching you and yours remain present and carefree as you celebrate important milestones. I’m the first person to cry at every wedding (...and sometimes even kids’ birthday parties)—and I can pivot and problem-solve like nobody’s business (New England weather doesn’t stand a chance against my backup plans). More than anything, our journey together is one defined by balance: I’m extremely flexible but systems-driven, a rule follower who loves to push the envelope, and an experienced pro who knows perfection is never the end-goal (enjoyment is!).

GLOBETROTTERI’ve traveled to more countries than I have states—and I love working the stories and food of your travels into your event touch points.
FRANCOPHILEI minored in French and have hopes to one day have a second home in the South of France. For now, curling up in my Connecticut home with a French 75 will do.
HELPING HANDWhether I’m volunteering with organizations that give back to women and young girls—or setting your family up with amazing childcare for your wedding weekend—supporting others fills me up.
